2008 BC Poker Championship:  Event #1 was won by Raja Sarna, who turned a $550 entry fee into $59,721 on November 16.  Event #2 was won by Harminder Singh Aujla from Surrey BC.  The first place prize was worth $42,571 for this mixed limit-no-limit Holdem tournament.

12th Harvest Poker Classic:  The $1000 entry fee didn't stop hundreds of poker player in Regina at the twelfth annual Harvest Poker Classic.  Poker players across Western Canada played on November 15, 2008 for a top prize of $56,959.

WSOP Main Event:  There was two Canadian poker players at the final table in the World Series of Poker Main Event in 2008.  Darus Suharto was out in sixth place for $2,418,562 and Scott Montgomery made it to fifth place for a $3,096,768 pay day.
